Hello, I’m Dan Mooney, the Sponsorship Coordinator at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center, located in the gorgeous Redmond, Oregon. My role involves connecting businesses with opportunities throughout the fairgrounds, and I'm always on the lookout for innovative ways to help local companies enhance their brand awareness. My journey in this industry began at a young age with USA BMX, which initially brought me to Redmond. The BMX races still take place at our facility every April. After years of traveling across the U.S. to set up Olympic-style tracks, I concluded my time there in 2011 as the magazine's editor and relocated to Redmond.

The Fairgrounds have always been significant to me, as they were the main reason I moved here. Once I settled in, I served as the Marketing Director at the Redmond Chamber of Commerce, followed by a role as Graphic Designer and Lead Salesman at Wild Ride Brewing. During my time there, I had the opportunity to expand their reach into Washington and Eastern Oregon. They continue to be one of my clients and collaborate with us whenever possible.
In 2017, I recognized a demand for car shows in Redmond and founded Central Oregon Car Shows. Organizing these car shows from beginning to end has given me valuable experience in event setup, management, and securing sponsorships. I successfully hosted numerous car shows, with my largest event attracting over 400 classic cars to downtown Redmond. After selling the company in 2022, the shows continue to thrive each year. In 2016, I took on a role at Smart Shopper Magazine in Bend, focusing on Social Media Marketing and Website Development. By 2018, I established my own business, Mooney Marketing Website Design, and have been dedicated to building and managing websites ever since.​
In 2020, the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center contacted me about an available position, and I jumped at the chance. Working for the facility that brought me to this wonderful community felt like a dream come true. I accepted a part-time role, as my marketing company was flourishing at the time. Fast forward to today, and I truly enjoy my position at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center, while my business continues to thrive.
Balancing both roles also allows me to spend quality time hiking with my wife and snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor whenever possible. That’s my story – that’s me. I would love to assist in growing your business, and I believe that partnering with us at the Fairgrounds is an excellent opportunity to achieve that.
